Vlad is one of my favorite characters in the Night Huntress/Night Huntress World series. Never have I met a character more imposing, more powerful, and probably more sexy than Vlad. But for me, this story just seemed to have not enough Vlad. Maybe it's because I'm not that keen on Leila's character. Yes, she has awesome powers, she's pretty spunky and fierce when she wants to be, and she stands up to Vlad where no one else would dare. But something about her fell flat for me. Maybe it was a cultural difference - the human version of true love vs the vampire version? I'm not sure. I'm not saying that this book was bad - it was actually entertaining. I loved the sexy parts - they were sizzling hot. I was a little disappointed in the end of the book. It just ended. Abruptly. At least leave me with a bit of a cliffhanger.Anyhow, I will most likely continue reading this series.
