I'm torn about how to rate this - maybe 2 - 2.5 starsThis is a review of the audio book version which I listened to in order to combat some sleepless nights. The narrator was OK, however whenever she did Alex's voice she did sound very creepy. I'm not sure if this was intentional or maybe Alex really was creepy. Anyhow...As I listened, a lot of red flags were raised. Is this today's version of couples' therapy? What kind of husband sneaks a menage relationship up on his wife? Is it cheating if your husband gives you permission to sleep with his best friend? How far do people take sharing? This book really took me out of my comfort zone and there were times when I really could not stand the main characters Ann, Jamie, and Alex.To add to the mix, the family members surrounding Ann and Jamie were pretty damaged and annoying as well. Jamie's mother was the epitome of the evil mother in law, you know, the kind that Dr. Phil likes to feature on his show.There were a lot of sex scenes and they were mostly hot - it just didn't sit well with me because Ann was fooling around with her husband's best friend. This is probably a case of this book wasn't for me. I can see its appeal however, for me, it was like watching a train wreck. I had to keep listening, just to see how it turned out.
