Banshee Charmer (From the Files of the Otherworlder Enforcement Agency, #1)

Banshee Charmer - Tiffany Allee Banshee Charmer is a solid start to a four book series by debut author Tiffany Allee. Set in Chicago and its surrounding area, Banshee Charmer reminded me a little of those procedural detective TV shows with the addition of some paranormal elements. The world of Banshee Charmer is dark and gritty. The heroine Mac (short for Kiera McLaughlin) is a half banshee. I liked Mac, although at times she did risk her personal safety. While Mac’s magical ability was her banshee scream and not much else, she was pretty effective at detective work, even though she didn’t use the most conventional methods. Mac partners with Aidan Byrne to find the killer. Aidan is a bit of a mystery as the reader is never quite sure what he really is aside from very handsome and sexy. One of my favorite characters in this book had to be Claude Desmarais, a vampire. His knowledge of the vampire community was a great asset during Mac’s investigation. Claude was quite protective of Mac, too. I liked that this book had all sorts of supernatural characters. The banshee lore was interesting. Banshee Charmer was a nice, light diversion for a Saturday afternoon. I’m looking forward to reading the next books in the series when they are released.Thank you to the publisher for a review copy of this book. Review posted on Badass Book Reviews.
