Silver-Tongued Devil (Sabina Kane, #4)

Silver-Tongued Devil - Jaye Wells Silver Tongued Devil starts immediately after the events of Green Eyed Demon. Sabina, Adam, and Gighul are back in New York City. Sabina is still reeling from her previous adventures when some grisly murders are discovered. There is so much to like about this series. The world created by the author is original: vampires have Biblical origins going back to Cain. There is constant strife in this world, with the different races, vampires, mages, and the fae at odds with each other. Set in New York City and the “Black Light District,” the book has a dark, gritty feel. The characters make this book an enjoyable read. Sabina is a hard to like heroine, almost a loose cannon, shooting first and asking questions later. Yet, there is growth to her character and her magical abilities in this book. Gighul, her mischief demon minion who manifests as a hairless cat offers comedic relief throughout the book. I feel that Gighul’s character has grown exponentially throughout the series. Left to his own devices, Gighul has proven remarkably resourceful from prize fighting demon to coach of a ladies’ roller derby team. Other eccentric characters round out the cast including Pussy Willow a cross dressing fae, and Erron Zorn of the band Necrospank.I was frustrated with the progress of Sabina and Adam’s relationship. Sabina has difficulty committing to Adam to the point of sabotaging her relationship. Adam is equally guilty, shutting down and failing to communicate. The ARC of this book suffered from a lot of grammar and spelling errors as well as a continuity error. I hope that these will be rectified before the book is released.Silver Tongued Devil was action packed and I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. I’m now anxious to read the next and final book in the series Blue Blooded Vamp in June 2012.Thanks to Netgalley and Hachette Books for a review copy of this book. Review posted on Badass Book Reviews
