Nice, short story setting up Rachel Vincent's Soul Screamers series. I enjoyed this story and will definitely be reading the rest of the series. I loved the heroine Kaylee and how she struggled to deal with her ability to sense impending death. She has a rather wry sense of humor and when her aunt sends her some clothes to the mental health institute, Kaylee puts on the clothes. Later, she notices that the sweatsuit is made of a sparkly material. She comments to herself: "Great. I'm psychotic and sparkly." Nash makes a cameo appearance. Looking forward to seeing more of him.
