I love this series! Once again, another hot, steamy and oh, so romantic book. Heavy sigh… This has got to be my favorite book of the series so far.The Dark Highlander is the story of Dageus MacKeltar and his “wee lass” Chloe Zander. Dageus used his Druid magic to save his twin brother Drustan from death and as a result, he became a Dark Druid. Dageus is now a tormented soul and he struggles to keep the evil ones inside. His only recourse is to have frequent, meaningless sex. Dageus is seeking the manuscript that will help him remove the curse. Chloe stumbles into Dageus’ world. Dageus is physically attracted to her, as she is to him, but she denies her feelings at first. I do like how Ms. Moning portrays her female characters. Chloe is sweet, stubborn, smart, and a little nerdy – especially when it comes to any kind of Scottish artifact or manuscript. There are some great cultural references in the book. Chloe keeps comparing Dageus to Angel or Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Dageus even brings Chloe some of her favorite hot and steamy romance novels - The Highlander's Touch. Of course, what kind of Highlander book would it be without time travel? It was great seeing Silvan and Nell once again. I laughed, I cried, I sighed, and I want to read the next book right now!
